Marek Brzozowski was born in Bydgoszcz, Poland in 1952. He studied in the Academy of Fine Art in Gdansk, Poland, graduating in 1976, with both bachelor and master degrees in graphic design. From 1978 to 1989 he lectured graphic design and typography at the mentioned academy. In 2000 he received his Ph.D. at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. Currently, he lives in Ankara, where he lectures graphic design and illustration at the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture of Bilkent University.

Simultaneously, he worked as a freelance designer, illustrator, painter and art director. He participated in many solo and group exhibitions and received a number of awards in international competitions in poster design, cartoon art, illustration and corporate identity logo design. He continues to paint and exhibit his works locally and internationally.

Brzozowski describes his paintings as showing creativity through unexciting situations, imaginary landscapes, unexplored characters or half-surrealistic visions of the world around him.
